New here? Start with these
The questions we hear most from people trying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the first time.
Do I need experience to start?
Not at all. Most of our students walk in with zero experience. Our beginner and fundamentals classes are designed to teach you everything from the very first movement.
What should I wear to my first class?
For a trial, comfortable athletic clothing without zippers or pockets (a t-shirt and shorts or leggings) is perfect. If you continue, we will help you choose a gi.
Is BJJ good for fitness?
Yes. Training builds strength, mobility, cardiovascular endurance, and body awareness, all while learning a practical skill, so it rarely feels like a workout.
Are classes beginner-friendly?
Absolutely. Classes are structured by level, instruction is step-by-step, and training partners are taught to roll safely and supportively with newcomers.
Do you offer kids classes?
We do. Our Kids BJJ program serves ages 5–13 with age-appropriate technique, games, and a strong emphasis on respect, focus, and confidence.
